ANZAC Tribute

Remembering when the Sky Fell

"Lest We Forget"
Claudia Sorace - Creative Director

Anzac Day is one of importance to all Australian's, but personally resonates with me. My Grandfather Leonard Bertram Gurtner was a Red Beret (Red Devil) Paratrooper, in the 22nd Independent Division of the British Army. Leonard fought in World War II and surrendered himself to Britain; fighting for freedom and peace. If my Grandfather were here today, he would be marching in honour, for us  to thank him for his plight.

My Grandfather lost many friends and fellow troops in his division and for this loss, for the soldiers and Independent's who didn't return home, we remember you.

Below are three of Braudia's favourite pictures, taken in combat during WWII.

All three feature Leonard B. Gurtner.
